Celebrate Summer with Ice Cream

June is ending and summer is officially here. My eyes are healing and my vision is so good that I do not need glasses. Now, all of that gives me enough reason to celebrate, so the family decided to investigate the two best-rated ice cream shops nearby. Swirlies lures us to its shop with soft-serve ice cream twists. I chose a childhood favorite, a chocolate-dipped cone of swirled, vanilla chocolate ice cream on a sugar cone. Not only was the night filled with the warm essence of summer but the ice cream was as delicious as I remembered it.

"Life is like ice cream: Enjoy it before it melts."

  2. Yay for your healed eyes and sweet celebratory treat, Carol! I read somewhere the shortest poem to describe a summer ice cream cone:
    "Lick quick!" :)

    1. Lick quick sounds exactly what I experienced with my cone that dripped over the table and my hands but it was delicious.

    1. Linda, just when I want an outdoorsy night, it thunders and rains. There will always be another night for Swirlies. I think the girls are staying over for one night this weekend so cones will be on the menu.

  4. Great news about your eyes, Carol! Glad you are healing. Love your poem - it's just not summer without ice cream!!! I remember once as a kid getting my favorite ice cream cone, peppermint chip, and having the whole thing end up on the pavement after one lick!

  5. I had a soft vanilla cone today on the road back to Syracuse. "Summertime swelled" this week and the ice cream was a great treat.

  8. When the answer is "ice cream", you know you're on the right track! Enjoy a sweet summer, Carol. I'm delighted to hear your eyes have healed so well. That's worthy or more than one cone! (I think there's actually a pun in there...lol)
