Atrocities still exist and women still need support to be treated equally with dignity.
Yesterday was International Women's Day, a day to "Invest in women: Accelerate progress". The day began with opening remarks by UN Women Executive Director Sima Bahous at the UN Official commemoration of this special day dedicated to women across the world. Her speech ended with the following thought: "Be the light that brings hope and that accelerates progress towards an equal, sustainable, and peaceful future."

DeleteCarol, how can there be gender equality when people at the top (nameless politician{s}) make disparaging comments about women and people applaud him/them and see nothing wrong in what was said? During the month of March, our local TV station airs a weekly segment celebrating women and highlighting the contributions they made. Yes, it should be a daily feature, but weekly is a start. Bob
