A Winter Delight

An amaryllis is always waiting to delight and surprise you, even when your world seems cold and dark. - Susan Meissner, Only the Beautiful

With my winter gift, I can lean on hope during dark days and know that my one word, renew, is guiding me. Several times since December, my amaryllis has renewed itself. Its deep red flowers welcome me to sit and be quiet.

  2. Carol, hope comes when we need it most. The bright red shows us that even on dark days there is color and beauty to be found. My thoughts are with you. Bob

  3. Carol, how perfectly the amaryllis lends itself to the skinny poem form. How perfectly you mirror the symbolic meanings, with words...renew being the foremost, and just look at the richness of that red! Also hope-bearing...that light that will not go out, even in the darkest night. You have me contemplating a future post. All of this is absolutely gorgeous - wonders are all around us, and the Lord is at work. Like the amaryllis... Be still and know. Thank you for this winter gift today, friend. You are ever the bright spot for us. I hope we can mirror it for you.

  4. I grew an amaryllis one year and it filled me with such joy and hope. That's a neat skinny poem in the shape of the flower.

    1. Debbie Lynn, the amaryllis was a gift from a friend in December. I never knew that this plant would grow new blooms on its own. Thanks for your comment.
