When I opened poet-slicer, Margaret Simon's blog this weekend, I found a delightful photo she took while her little grandchildren frolicked in the sun. See This Photo Wants to be a Poem: Fountain.
I decided to crop Margaret's photo to observe it closer. What evolved was a #haikuofhealing and an elfchen of peace.

When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence.-Ansel Adams
May you capture the spirit of the holidays this year through nature.

Christmas Eve is upon us, so I wish everyone a silent pause for a moment of presence on this soon-to-be-luminous evening of joy.
in chilled moments
silent stillness holds its breath
world awaits joy

Thank you, Two Writing Teachers, for bringing a world of reflective writers to your silent space each week.
Beautiful poems. We wish you and your family a very Happy Christmas and a good New year.
ReplyDeleteCarol, it looks like the water droplets are festively dancing in the joy of this season. May we all be blessed with peace and joy not only during this happy time of year, but throughout the new year as well. Bob
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bob for adding your reply even though I do not see a slice from you. I hope the light of Christmas brings you joy. May you and Kathy enjoy the hope-filled holidays and stay warm. We had to deal with COVID and that impacted some of our family outings. My son no longer has COVID but my husband missed Christmas Eve Mass with my little ones and Christmas dinner at my daughter's inlaws even though his symptoms were mild. Peace to you.
DeleteCarol, your poem is lovely. Great idea to crop the photo and observe. We’re nearing the end of the Stafford Challenge, so I need all the poetry ideas I can find! Happy Holidays. .
ReplyDeleteGlenda, good luck with your challenge. I hope you are enjoying family time during the holidays.
DeleteWhat a wonder it is when we can have both - joy that explodes and some peace. Wishing you love-filled holidays!
ReplyDeleteTerje, I look forward to spending time slicing with you during the new year. May your winter days be filled with peace and joy!
DeleteI love what you’ve done with the photo and your sweet poems. Peace was my 2024 word and I am finding it hiding in Joy of poetry.
ReplyDeleteThis is Margaret. Merry Christmas!
DeleteMargaret, now that the festivities are over for now, I hope you continue to enjoy the time spent with your little grands. They bring such beautiful joy to all of us. While my husband had to miss Christmas Eve Mass and Christmas dinner (due to COVID, my son who had it first enjoyed being with the family and his sweet little nieces. May peace continue for you.
DeleteHappy holidays, Carol! The elfchen poems fit the photo so well. Pure magic!
