Inktober Fun

"Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the Earth  seeking the successive autumns."
-George Eliot

As the autumn season progresses, colors become more vibrant and picture-perfect. I, like many others, are lured by the beauty of an autumn day. Whether its a red and gold day or a grey one, I watch earth change its fashionable attire and capture the sight. Below you will find my October sightings that I turned into my Inktober/Poemtober offerings.

Inktober Day 21 - treasure
Blog post-Autumn Treasure

Today was one of those special autumn days that stayed warm all the way into nighttime. The following quote states what I felt as I decorated the house for the Halloween party I am having tomorrow night.

"I was drinking in the surroundings: air so crisp you could snap it with your fingers and greens in every shade imaginable by autumnal flashes of red and yellow."
-Wendy Delsol Stork

I am pausing for a moment to listen to Autumn in New York
with Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong

Other Inktober/Poemtober poems I had fun creating with a Halloweenish flair can be found at my Buncee dashboard. They are all examples of animated digital storytelling.

Howl Chant was created for Poemtomber. I intend to share it with my little granddaughter because she enjoys sing-song chants.

Monster Fear is an animated story poem that I submitted to Michelle H. Barnes for her October Ditty created by Rebecca Herzog and for Poemtober. My blog post can be accessed here

Ghost Night Out! is my newest animated story poem for Inktober day 22/Poemtober.

October has been a busy night noticing, wondering, and creating and it is not over yet. As I mentioned at the beginning of this blog post, I am not the only one capturing a glorious autumn photograph. The host of this week's Poetry Friday, Karen Edmisten, also snapped a photo of a beautiful autumn tree in full color followed by a Helen Hunt Jackson poem, October. I am heading over to Karen's blog to link up.

If anyone has an offering for my Abundant Autumn Gallery, please send it to me via Twitter at #AbundantAutumn or to my Gmail address. Thank you.

  1. That George Eliot quote is the perfect introduction to your wonderful collection of "spicy" autumnal poems. It's a season that inspires poetry, isn't it? So glad you've shared some of yours here. That first poem/photo combo is perfect! I love that you'll be sharing your poetry with your granddaughter as well.

    1. Molly, it is so much fun creating autumnal poems when the subject is so complying. One of the pluses of autumn on Long Island is that you can spend time outdoors enjoying the beauty because the weather is usually so inviting.

    2. HOW TO GET CROWN MAGIC ATM CARD AND WITHDRAW UNLIMITED CASH This is the happiest moment of my life having no longer to worry about paying bills as i have been settled for life. A lot has been said about atm hacking and blank card for cash withdrawal but it all seemed like a myth to me until i eventually lost my job few months back and the world seemed to be moving backwards. I went online in search of jobs and means to an end and there i found comments about crown tech. and how they deliver this card in less than 7 days with no risk involved and a far much lesser price compared to what the card itself can give you, i then made contact and purchase one from them with almost my last dollars I took the risk and in exactly 6 days latter my card and a manual was delivered to my home address here in California and that same evening i used the card was able to take out $5000 for a start its been just 3 weeks and my life has taken a new shape. I simply want to say thank you to this electronic company and help spread their fame abroad. If you ever are in need of this card details on how to get yours today, email the hackers on atm.tecnology@ gmail. com YOu can also Whatsapp: +12134218707

  2. Thanks for this autumnal beauty in word and picture, Carol! Your love for the season is palpable and infectious (not that I needed convincing). :) Love the George Eliot quote too! Have fun at your party.

    1. Thanks for joining me, Jama. Autumn invites us to participate in life outdoors and be grateful for the many blessings. I am gearing up for the party and just laughed that I layer everything just like I do with my poetry. A little bit of this and a little bit of that makes for a good combination of sensory treats.

  3. I'm writing this comment while listening to Ella and Louis. Thanks for all of this Carol. I've been trying to capture the glory of the season, but nothing comes close to doing the season justice!

    1. I hope you enjoyed Ella and Louis' song. It's a soulful tune that puts me in the mood to go out and notice what the neighborhood looks like after yesterday's torrential rainstorm. I just finished my blog post for tomorrow that discusses the trendy colors of the runway season. Clothing lines are sporting autumnal shades like the color of the trees.

  4. It's lovely, reading these Autumn posts and finally getting it. It still passes us by here - but having now experienced it in Melbourne and Adelaide, I can feel alongside you all. :) (And looking forward to experiencing it in America next month! And speaking of which... I am stopping for the first two days at NCTE. So we shall meet!)

    1. I am so glad that you are joining us for late fall in America. Who knows, you may even see a snowflake at that time. A layered look is definitely in order for your trip. I am excited to meet up with you, Kat. I am going to DM you my cell phone number so you can text me to where you will be at the convention.

    1. My party was a hoot, Michelle. For those who did not wear a full costume, I handed out accoutrements from my Halloween box. Today, it is a lovely shade of gray and gloom to get us into the spirit of Halloween. (Inktober poem for dark added with a layered digital look.) Thanks for stopping by.

    1. Thanks for the comments, Mary Lee. It has been a glorious autumn weekend. Unfortunately, Mother Nature decided to give the ground a dosing of rain today when the annual Garden Potpourri is occurring. It is our village's charity event and I am working dressed in multiple layers. Autumn has many looks.
