Embraceable Summer Memories Gallery

In a world of masked moments and little travel, summer photos and poetry provide us with global adventures, albeit virtually. Join me in the final Embraceable Summer Gallery Walk. Applaud the beauty of summer and its alluring call.

Do you remember pre-pandemic, summer concerts or gatherings?

I spent my #QuarantineLife summer without ever stepping in the ocean.

How did you spend your summer months?

To my delight during Summer 2019 and 2020, many digital inspirations were sent to me as gifts from across the globe. They provided an opportunity to relax and drift away into a summer moment while in a staycation frame of mind.

Enjoy the Embraceable Summer Travels Across the World Google slideshowhere.

#QuarantineLife's motto is reflected in Jessica Bigi's fiery sunset glow.
Remember the steamy heat that had everyone talking.

various collections with digital inspirations like the one by @lucky_budd from British Columbia.
I would like to express my sincerest thanks to all the poets, bloggers, photographers, artists, friends, and colleagues from across the world for their contributions to this evolving gallery. Because of the magnitude of the collection, the gallery has been presented in six segments.
I hope you enjoyed the experience of taking gallery walks of nature throughout the world.

  1. Gorgeous collection, Carol. Like you, I didn't step foot in the ocean this summer (sad to say). But I have a handful of friends to meet up with for walks in the woods.

  2. What a wonderful bouquet of summer celebrations. We're 15 minutes from the Gulf and didn't make it once. Hopefully things will be safer next summer.

  3. Your summer celebrations continue to deliver a special warmth Carol. Thank you for including my summer poem. For us in the southern hemisphere it is all about anticipation tinged with apprehension.

    1. Thank you for being part of my global gallery, Alan. I hope you will join me as I celebrate an Abundant Autumn. I am looking forward to autumn. As we explored the local tree-lined trail by the lake today, I kept thinking of the bittersweet I used to pick. Next time I go, I will wear gloves to bring home a bit of fall.

  4. I can imagine you having fun tinkering with photos getting these galleries together. You do such a beautiful job of creating the shows but also giving poets a feeling of being recognized and part of a community. I love that about this blog site. Thank you, Carol.

    1. Linda, I am getting better about storing and categorizing photos and image poems sent my way but I still miss a few entries. The beauty of the blog is that I can always go in and add what I have missed. Thanks for being a part of the gallery collection for summer.

    1. Thank you, Michelle. For those who are homebound, the gallery is a wonderful virtual vacation. I hope some students will use the digital inspirations as mentor text. Enjoy the late summer/early fall heat.

  6. Oh my, Carol, how wonderful is your collection this time. I am finally getting to the later posts & am so glad I didn't miss yours. Wow and wow! I'm still sad about missing my own ocean time, but see that you, so close, also missed being in the water. Memories must be held tight of other summers, right? Thank you for all this work. I appreciate it very much.

    1. Linda, thanks so much for stopping by even though I posted late. It has been hard to find writing time these days but it is need so I can de-stress. We do go to the ocean for our walks but dipping in the water is always refreshing. Unfortunately, next summer we will not living on Long Island so we will need to find other water bodies to frequent.

  7. Since my husband's heart attack and month-long hospitalization in July and September 2019, we haven't traveled anywhere. First he was convalescing and then COVID - too much risk. I've longed to go to the beach as we normally do a few times each year. Summer is gone but October is such a gorgeous month... maybe soon. Your stunning gallery, as always, lifts and refreshes the spirit until I can stand in the sand and breathe the ocean breeze again, at last. Thank you for your magnificent and important work, Carol; it never fails to soothe the soul.

    1. I am glad that the gallery is soothing souls, Fran. It is an important goal of mine. COVID has taken away many of our given pleasures but humans are resourceful and find ways to sing the praises of nature while living a quarantine life.

  10. Wow - an absolute abundance! So many wonderful, creative responses. Thanks to all the wordsmiths & artists, and to your beautiful curation as always, Carol. And I'll be thinking of Liz's relaxing poem to remind myself to "breathe" when things get hectic this fall!
