Seeking Quietude

Summer is moving on at a remarkable rate closer to my family's moving date.  Quarantine life, a tropical storm, and sweltering heat add to the stress of the clock ticking.  It is no wonder why I seek quiet time this summer.  In honor of finding sacred moments of peace, I  created a video poem using the Lumen 5 platform and a mix of original digital art and nature photos from Unsplash for my Embraceable Summer Gallery collection.

Quiet time has been on my mind so please kick off your sandals, find a relaxing seat, and watch my brief video poem.  I am joining Two Writing Teachers for the Tuesday Slice of Life

  1. With all that is going on it is so important that we find quiet time for ourselves just to reflect and keep ourselves sane. There is nothing like being out in nature that brings us a sense of peace and the energy to face whatever lies ahead.

    1. Thank you for stopping by and helping me now take some quiet time to keep me sane. Trying to pack up a lifetime of memories to make a major move is daunting. Reading others' slices and responding is helping me keep centered.

  2. Like one source of stress wasn't enough. Summer quiet is an amazing source for staying sane. I enjoyed your video - I felt the summer in it.

    1. Terje, I am taking a break from cleaning out the attic to find some quiet time. it is refreshing and helps me calm down from the day's stress.

  3. Being confined WITH people in a tight space means collateral noise. The thing is, when we do find a moment to ourselves, the worry and fear within us begins to clang like cymbals. The silence around us enables and empowers the clashes of fret to thrash our temples.
Mother nature is an Aikido expert. She takes our negative energy and transforms it into workable sanity. She gives us just enough sound to sooth our souls.
