Brene Brown says, "Creativity is the way I share my soul with the world." As a writer, I certainly agree with this thought. Creativity is my spark, illuminated by desire and passion that begins a new thought, idea, or project. It is my venture into the unknown, a design that takes shapes into a digital inspiration. It is often art with a dash of technology that lifts my sparks to finished pieces.
Join me as I share various creativity sparks and connections with fellow creative friends that brought joy this week.
Poetic goodness arrives with a new group of postcards. The creativity of three poetry friends, Linda Baie, Robyn Hood Black, and Becky Herzog, brings sunshine in winter with special artistic messages for a bright new year.
Becky Herzog shares a musical theme to ring in the new year.
Linda Baie welcomes the new year with an inspirational image poem,
One leaf drops..., and a quote by Rilke.
Robyn Hood Black offers a poem from a different era with one of her current haikus.
Sanctuary of Thought:
Once again, I present One Word 2021 Sanctuary of Thought slide share and padlet. Participants of #SlowK12ArtChat offer their #oneword artistic expressions for silent reflection.
Jan Godown Annino hosts Poetry Friday this week at her blog, Bookseedstudio. Jan's one word 2021 is Sing and she is singing with joy throughout her post today.
What a wonderful and beautiful quote to begin your post with! I love it. I've been enjoying Brene Brown's podcasts. I'm so glad she is motivated to share with the world in that way. I've so enjoyed the postcard exchange this year. Real, snail mail is such a treat!
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Linda. I also love Brene Brown's quote. I should create a digital background for it as a reminder of the power of creativity in making connections. Snail mail is an old tradition that has been rekindled through Jone's Postcard Poetry initiative. This year, everyone has been filled with creative juices. You reminded me to look up other Brene Brown podcasts. Have a great day. My family is driving to VA next week for another round of appointments at the new house. I hope the weather remains calm toward the middle of the week.
DeleteIt's wonderful to read and "see" all your poetry inspiration, Carol. Thanks for sharing my postcard, fun to create. And thanks for the gratitude to our sanctuaries. Being home so much this year has brought goodness, too. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteLinda, our sanctuaries are important components of life. Within them we can let the world float away. Our community is a great way to end the week with inspiration and hope. Thanks for your beautiful poetry postcard.
DeleteI, too, love the opening quote and its visual representation as well as your poems. We had a brilliantly sunny morning here, but all's gray now as there's a "storm brewing." Safe travels to you!
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining me, Carmela. Gray seems to be the color of the day so its time to drink hot chocolate and stay inside. We had to pack some of my crystal to take to my new home in VA and the temperature was so cold that we could only work for a short time. More tomorrow unless we are surprised by a storm.
DeleteI love the Brown quote. It speaks to me. Love all the offerings of poetry postcards. Love out community.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks again and again for providing this avenue to create cards that speak of the positivity of a new year, Jone. Brown's quote will end in a digital of mine someday soon.
DeleteAs usual, your post is a bounty of beautiful images and thoughts. Thank you, Carol!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the lovely comment, Laura. I am fortunate to have so much inspiration around me from poetry friends. Stay warm this weekend.
DeleteThank you for sharing all these sparks of inspiration. I really am in need of some inspiration this week. I especially like the Brene Brown quote at the beginning.
ReplyDeleteSusan, inspiration comes in burst so find your joy this week.
DeleteI sometimes think that creativity is how we find our voice, to then speak it. Your layering of words and images always takes creativity to new levels, Carol.
ReplyDeleteKat, thanks for your comment. I have been so busy with our new move to Virginia, selling our house on Long Island, and daily life that I have to find a few moments to let my creativity burst. I will catch up with your blogposts soon. Stay well.
DeleteCarol your card with the Bertolt Brecht poem and art is exquisite, so much truth in his words, and the art reminds me of a Hans Hoffman painting:https://leslierankow.wordpress.com/tag/hans-hofmann-foundation/Thanks for offering us this sanctuary filled with poems and art!
ReplyDeleteMichelle, I love playing around with background designs for my creativity work. Thank you for the link to Hans Hofmann Foundation. His work is filled with bright abstract designs that are inspiring. I found my background design on Canva and played around with fonts to get the effect I wanted. Art has always interplayed in my work. Thank you for noting this specific digital inspiration through your artistic eyes.
DeleteWhat a beautiful, inspiring collection!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks, Ruth. Enjoy your week!
DeleteCarol, your words and pictures breathe rest and rejuvenation and invite me to pause and reflect. Thank you for sharing them.
ReplyDeleteKay, I am glad that you entered this restful sanctuary and found some reflection time. Peace to you.
DeleteLove those pieces.
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining me here, Roy. Find your sanctuary of thought and let it inspire joy.
