My 2025 One Little Word

A new pathway opens for my 2025 Spiritual Journey. It is guided by a new one little word. My former collection of OLWs will not be forgotten or discarded. They are the foundation that I have walked on since 2014. While reflecting on my stepping stones below, I open my heart to the possibilities for 20225 with a new guiding word.

My collection of one words strengthens my spiritual journey each year. In December, I eagerly awaited a new word, a connector that creates newness. Little did I know that my word had been waiting for me since 2014. In that blog post, I wrote the following about my one word openness. "A connector on my journey, the enticer to find possibilities in life by shifting, reflecting, redirecting, redesigning, and renewing my course of action."

I intentionally paused life since May 2024 due to a medical issue. I am ready for RENEW to restore what has faded and create newness in my life. I hope 2025 will provide a fresh start and a positive change to restore, revitalize, and make life feel fresh again. Psalm 51:10 holds the essence of my one word. "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit  within me."  After last year's interruption, I confidently return to my spiritual path.

    2. Ramona, it is always good to chat with you. OLWs are so much better than resolutions. Yes, I also hope that life presents opportunities to restore and create. The storm is about to come tonight so everyone is trying to prepare. I have the chicken soup simmering on the stove and searching through the internet for something new to bake or prepare. I just paused to think that this is a creative act. Enjoy this week.

    1. Linda, I am hoping that this year I can renew my spirit and my strength with the guidance of my one word. It will be a journey but I am confident that I will find pathways that open for me. The snow came down sideways today but it only gave a slight covering on the lawn. At least it allowed me to enjoy the art of wintering.

It's a word that can apply in so many different aspects of life - health, happiness, relationships, spirituality, and so many more. I pray you see renewal in lots of ways, and I love that you chose the verb form of the word.

    1. Denise, Renew a steadfast spirit is what I am looking for this season. Opening the door to the beauty of winter's snowy beauty is enough to start my day as I renew the look in my great room to a wintery setting. I have my manger scene still out as I do each year up to the Epiphany. Today's snow day makes me feel cozy as I hold a steadfast spirit in my heart.

This morning, the snow blanketing the ground is a wonderful way to see the beauty of nature. I wish I could send you a packet of snow to show you how glistening it is.
