Evening Wonder

Did you read this article, "Fly you to the Moon? Japanese billionaire seeks 8 people for space voyage?"  In March 2021, Fashion tycoon Yusaku Maezawainin made an offer for 8 people to fly to the moon free. Sounds interesting? Personally, I rather stay on earth and gaze at the moon in the night sky.

Last night, I was totally smitten by the glow of the crescent moon and
surprised I could photograph the moonslice with my iPhone.

Listen to Frank Sinatra sing "Fly Me to the Moon"
and other songs on the moon playlist I created.

🌙🌙🌙

Are you ready to fly to the moon and back or leisurely listening to moon-related music?

As I listen to the playlist, I add my slice of life at Two Writing Teachers to read what other slicers are offering?

  2. I too prefer moon-watching to moon-flying. I like how the photo captures both the moon glow and the light from the houses. Kind of fairytale like mood.

    1. I was visiting my sister who just drove in from Central NYS (she moved into my community also). The moon was so beautiful that I knew I wanted to capture it. The poem arrived finally this morning aft4er I mulled it over last night.

  3. Carol, great photo. I, too, would rather gaze at the moon rather than travel to it. So many great stories and things associated with the moon - moonbows, moonflowers, tide regulation, love, lunacy, and can't forget my favorite, werewolves.

    1. Bob, I never heard of a moonbow so I looked it up. The effect is beautiful and makes me want to see one soon. I am sure it is magnificent. LOL that werewolves are your favorite.

  4. Love your multimedia post with a song, photograph and ideas about flying to the moon. My post today was about the billionaire space race and my thoughts on how the Challenger explosion shaped how I view space exploration. Have you watched the Netflix series Challenger: The Final Flight? So fascinating.

    1. Kathleen, I have not watched the Netflix series because we don't subscribe to Netflix. I will ask my daughter if I can watch it when visiting. Thank you for sharing that information.

  5. This photo of the "moonslice" did turn out well, Carol. Such a dreamy quality in your post - moon, music, slumber. I am in awe of space travelers and their experiences - I enjoy those adventures vicariously, and, like you, am not convinced I would savor the firsthand experience!

    1. Fran, I appreciate you stopping by with your thoughts.I am wondering if the open spaces and lit houses in my VA community allowed for a a clearer picture. On Long Island trees were so tall and full in my neighborhood that the moon was often obscured.
