Autumn Gallery Walk Shares #oneword2021 Choices

“At no other time (than autumn) does the earth let itself be inhaled in one smell, the ripe earth." -Rainer Maria Rilke

WELCOME

to

Abundant Autumn Global Gallery

🍁🍃🍂
I invite you to:

Enjoy the simplicity of a gallery of artistic expressions that will get your hygge* on.
(*Danish term for "comfort and coziness that engenders a feeling of well-being".)

Experience a relaxing multimedia gallery walk through autumn amidst the flurry of a pandemic.

Sit back, inhale the smell of wood-burning fires, fresh scent of the countryside, and the taste of apple cider.

Embrace the beauty of earth with your senses. Is it not true what F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote in The Great Gatsby?

"Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall."

🍁🍃🍂

Be inspired to connect with nature and find peace during an awe walk.

🍁🍃🍂
Seek the artist within to create autumn as a celebration of all it brings.
I am autumn
before now I was firefly
today I'm a jack-o-lantern smile
tomorrow my name will be falling leaves
secretly I know my name wood smoke
My dream is to become Jack Frost
My name once was harvest moon
-Linda Mitchell

🍁🍃🍂
Autumn shimmers and shines with positivity.

🍁🍃🍂
Autumn is the eternal corrective. It is ripeness and color and a time of maturity; but it is also breadth, and depth, and distance. What person can stand with autumn on a hilltop and fail to see the spaqn of his or her world and the meaning of the rolling hills that reach to the far horison? -Hal Borland

Even in the midst of a pandemic
and
Then, as earth dropped its radiant veil,
simplicity appeared in the stillness of autumn.

  1. Loved this walk through your Autumn gallery Carol, an especially nice treat for our cold, windy, snow-sleety day. I wouldn't mind curling up in one of the images or poems till spring… And how thoughtful to highlight possible OLW words. Thanks and Happy New Year!

  5. I feel like I am experiencing life more abundantly when I pore over your autumn galleries (all your galleries). Every contributor has created and expressed such beauty -how can one see it all and not have a deep sense of appreciation and gratitude? Thank you as always for the awe-walk, Carol. I will have to tell you how "awe" decide it was going to be my word for 2021 yesterday. And I am currently thinking about how all those highlighted words would make make magnificent poems. Happy New Year!

  6. Oh my, Carol, it's been a long day when I ended up working a bookstore shift & am finally getting back to reading the final links. What a joy to see all this that we had this glorious autumn. I'd even forgotten that I wrote that poem with the picture 'find'! I definitely got my hygge* on! Happy New Year to you and yours, and in your new home!

  7. Gorgeous, Carol! Randy and I watched Jeff Lynde's War of the Worlds musical adaptation on YouTube last night (it'll be there only another couple of days), and I adore Justin Hayward's "Forever Autumn." One of my very favorite songs, and this lovely gallery and its wonderful contributions have that song playing in my mind again this morning.

  9. Wow, Carol! I am awestruck with your gallery of photos, painting, and pairing of poems! Such beauty and meaning. Thank you for this gift of joy, light, and awe! I'm so happy I came to your blog and subscribed to follow you! Autumn is my favorite season and you have captured it magnificently. I am putting your post in my favorites so I can journey through your gallery again. I love art with poetry. When I taught poetry enrichment classes I always had my students create illustrations to go with their final poetry drafts. At the end of our three week classes we stapled them into a book and they read them aloud to their families. I miss those classes. Unfortunately, COVID put an end to them this summer. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful gif.
