Welcome the Season of Renewal

I welcome a new season into the world but am perplexed that it rushed in with loud whooshes of wind. Night winds turned into early morning winds with slower speed and different swirling sounds. It was then that I realized it was Day 2 of the new season of renewal. Did Mother Nature open its azure skies to remind me, and the world, that "When one flower blooms, spring awakens everywhere" (Walter C. Hagen)?

Life is fragile, uncertain, and when you least expect it becomes a bump in the journey. I am in the middle of a unexpected happening that is gushing with whooshing winds. Yet, the beginning of spring soothes my soul. Holding on to the idea of spring, a season of renewal, alters the fragility and uncertainty of life. Spring becomes the magical potion for a spiritual awakening.

  1. Carol,
I’m glad spring has arrived on the calendar. Now if we could just get her to show her warm face I could bear the world’s metaphor winds a bit better.

    1. Glenda, I always think of this season as the transition period. Last night, the night winds were whoosing by with their drawn-out sounds. I tried to listen between the sheets curled up around me.

  2. The spring sure has a way to give hope and strength. Poems too.

    1. It is interesting to state that spring is the season for strength. When I lived in the snow belt of New York State, spring had to have strength especially when the winter-like scenarios interfered with the way spring tried to open its blossoms.

  3. Carol, spring brings hope, something we all need to cling to when life becomes bumpy. A new season brings new wonders for us to enjoy. It reminds us that even on dark days, there is light. Wising you the best. Bob

    1. Rose, spring is smiling with bright sunshine today BUT it fooled us as we sat outdoors with our cousins who were visiting. I am taking a deep breath with Spring. Wishes to you!

    1. Life seems to be full of difficulties this spring. Perhaps that is why i can hear the whooshing winds.

  6. Spring's gonna do what Spring's gonna do -- whether that's whooshing winds, or bright sun, or frost on the windshield. But no matter what, nothing NOTHING is stopping her!

    1. Mary Lee, you are so right. One day it is spring-like and the next chilly with a bright sun. I never know what type of clothing to wear.

  9. It's feeling very un-spring here - we currently have a rainfall warning in effect, with roaring winds, making it feel more like winter! But still, I can see the tiniest of buds on the tips of the branches - spring will come, no matter what.

    1. Hooray for the tiny buds that are popping despite the elements of nature that want to keep winter around.

  10. You aren't kidding! Those crazy winds! I didn't mind the soft rain yesterday morning, though. It was nice and smelled like spring. I love your embrace of renewal. Even though there are some wild winds, renewal comes with spring...much needed.
