Summer's Enduring Beauty-Part 2

There is something magical and wondrous about the sun rising or setting across a summer sky.  But how often do we pause to watch Its flow?  Summer may have sunsetted but we can still relive the miracles of sunsets, "a wonderful opportunity for us to appreciate all the great things the sun gives us."-Mehmet Murat ildan   So put on the pause button and enjoy an evening sky show from sunsets around the world.  Relieve your summer moments as you peruse this mini-gallery.

"When the sun has set, no candle can replace it." -George R.R. Martin

Whenever I leave New York City at night, I always gaze back to view the skyline with its night jewels glistening.  I never grow tired of seeing Manhattan lit up against and evening sky.

Thank you for taking an evening walk with me.  All of these photos will be showcased in my soon-to-be-unveiled Embraceable Summer Gallery. In closing,, I leave you with a couple more inspiring quotes:  "There's a sunrise and sunset every single day, and they're absolutely free.  Don't miss so many of them."  -Jo Walton  So travel near or far this season and embrace earth's natural beauty.  As Atticus Finch said in To Kill a Mockingbird, "Never go too long without watching a sunset."

Tonight is the beginning of Poetry Friday and Cheriee Weichel is hosting her first Poetry Friday Roundup with an interview of a Canadian poet.  I am joining her to post my blog and read what others in our writing community are offering.

  1. "they're absolutely free", if only many who do not enjoy all that nature offers would go outside! Thanks for the beauty, Carol!

    1. Am driving with the family to Central NY for my 91-yr-old uncle's birthday party-lucky to have a connection to read your comment. Many thanks, Linda. The landscape here is peppered with color. I love NYS. Maybe I will catch a beautiful sunset as the weather cools down in Syracuse.

    1. Thanks, Linda, I really liked the way my skyline photo came out especially since I was taking pictures from the car as we were whizzing away from NYC. I played around with it to make it pop. Tonight, I was trying to take another sunset photo while in Central NY. The sky had an indigo hue again but with a touch of pink. Unfortunately, I could not get the right effect so I am glad that i have my Manhattan skyline photo.

  8. Makes me miss the sunsets on the lake at my parents' home. We don't see them over the bayou as we face the south. But when we get out in the canoe, we can capture the beauty. What wonders of creation!

    1. Margaret, did you send me a sunset from your parent's home on the lake? I have one that I thought was yours but it has no name. I suppose I captured it and did not add a sender. I will send it to you via DM to see if it is yours. If so, please place your name and location (a poem if you have one). I can only imagine how magnificent it must be to watch the sun set over the bayou while you sit in your canoe.
