Summer Gone-Finding Fall

Each year, Autumn approaches with a brush in hand. I wait in anticipation of its artistic masterpiece. This holiday weekend, my son traveled to West Virginia with my daughter and her family to find fall. He captured its splendor with his iPhone camera. I added a bit of digital magic to his glorious photo and penned haikus after delving into the photo.

Autumn is a Slice of Life that transforms the world into a living museum of artistic pleasure.

Please join me this autumn as I celebrate this season of transformation and joy.
Consider offering a photograph and poem or inspirational thought of
autumn's brilliance for a fall gallery of artistic expressions.

  1. Carol, what a sweet offering you have given us today. Yes, indeed, "a living museum of artistic pleasure" is such a beautiful phrase. That scene in West Virginia looks like "nature celebrates" -- yes!

    1. Denise, thanks for commenting. I am looking forward to seeing West Virginia the next time my daughter travels there. I have seen photos of the area that she skis at during winter and it is beautiful in that season also. I really think that nothing compares with the brilliance of fall.

    1. Ramona, Derek took some lovely photos of autumn in West Virginia. I am longing to see the trees change color but fo now I will rely on others to share their nature photos and dream away.

    1. My son's photo was so beautiful in color that the haiku seemed to be the best poetry format to use. Resplendent is a word that I learned at an early age. My Mom had a Better Homes and Garden magazine with full pages of gorgeous flowers. In fact, one will be hung in a very large frame .

  5. We are waiting on autumn here in central Texas, the heat and humidity still a bit oppressive. I have sweaters at the ready when we finally dip into cooler temps, but I can enjoy your image and haiku in the meantime. Thanks for the nature break this morning, Carol!
