#SOL22 March Musings Day 16: Post-Surgery

Day After Surgery

morning hugs sky
as eye patch hugs eye
post-surgery thoughts

light streaks peek
through blinds
feeling a bit unbalanced

off to the doctor
take care-follow directions
remove patch

back to the house
2-year-old arrives
grandma care needed

shift attention
grandgirl smiles and talks
worry lifted

balance between
child and self-care
pillows plumped for rest

exhausted but thankful
time for eyes to rest
along with mind

eye patch ready
good night world
ready for a new view on life

  1. Carol, what kind of lens did you get? Will you still need glasses? I hope your surgery went well and you have no complications. I think you know I recently had cataract surgery, and so need another one on my right eye. My doctor thinks the lens is defective and arrived that way from the manufacturer.

  2. I hope you are recovering well, and that you end up with crystal clear vision when you heal! I am impressed that you wanted to write even on the day after surgery!

  3. I didn't think you'd be writing for a few days, but here you are. My husband has had several eye surgeries. Be patient with the process.
