Do you ever feel like you need a bit of inspiration to start-kick your day?
Still recovering from the first cataract surgery and feeling scattered even before that, I need a BIG shot of inspiration to stay balanced. Read through this laundry list of to-do items to understand why I need an inspirational remedy.
- No Stretch and Pump or Gentle Yoga Classes
- No lifting more than 20 pounds
- No bending down with my head down
- Stick to the eye drop regime (3 boxes of drops: two must be inserted into the right eye 4xs per day and one every 2 hours plus rub a small amount of ointment in the surgery eye nightly )
- Continue to insert a drop of Restasis 2xs per day in the left eye
- Get ready for the reinstallation of one of the organizational racks that the installers did not install correctly
- Continue with routine life chores
- Find time for a daily walk
- Be ready for distractors
This laundry list of to-dos, especially #9, is tilting my perspective, BUT it is What It Is!
Remedy:
Open the shades
Let sunshine in
So hope flows
Into my soul
Self-care
Counts!

NAMASTE!
Thank you Two Writing Teachers for this daily meeting place to connect with a community of reflective writers.
Carol, I understand what you are going through. Kathy had the same restrictions and eye drop routine when she had her cataracts removed. A little inconvenience for a whole lotta better seeing. Hand in there.
ReplyDeleteThanks for understanding and sharing Kathy's story. It is helpful hearing that others who have gone through cataract surgery understand.
DeleteOh, my husband has had multiple eye surgeries and I know just getting through the eye drop routine is challenging. You need an app just to get everything in. I would say this is a time to go gentle with yourself on #7 and enjoy the fun of #8.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your advice, Ramona. it is helpful having your take on life.
DeleteI see how you're durable and fragile at the same time. Sounds like abundant sunshine and mindful breathing will help you hang in there for now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Brian. I woke early to start the drop routine. As Ramona says go easy on the life chores routine wWhich I gladly will do. Off to slice now.
