Countdown to Moving Day

Yesterday was a rough day but today starts out with bright sunshine and a smile even though I have a full day of packing, actually, my last one before the movers come. Today is a high alert day so I am off to start the day rolling with the question of the moment posed by a few friends yesterday.

"Will you get your house packed by tomorrow?"

I fretted about this yesterday, cried at different times of the day, and went to sleep still pondering on how I could make this happen. There is no magic wand for me to wave. I just need grit and peseverence.

While there are some appointments and final tasks to do outside the house before tomorrow, I am ready to handle the day. Packing first, cleaning tonight. Then, the final sweep will occur on Saturday when I return to Long Island for the walkthrough and closing.

It always seems impossible until it is done. -Nelson Mandel

  1. Carol, somehow sunshine gives us a new perspective on things and things seemed insurmountable the night before now seem doable. Hope you have a good day and everything falls into place. I know it will.
BTW, your posted link doesn't seem to work. It took me back to the TWT homepage.

    1. Ah, sunshine on the face without the chill is such a boost of energy. I just went outside without a jacket, just a sweatshirt. I am in high gear mode now. Thanks for all of your support and noting that my post was not linking right. I fixed that.

  2. Carol, I tried to fix your link by commenting on your tag, but the comment must be trapped in moderation. I test my link each day after posting. If you can, hire someone to do that cleaning. You’ve done enough.

  3. It will all work out. There's no other option. I hope that after the final sweep you have good night sleep and will be ready for the big move.

    1. After a very long day with the movers, we are on the road to Virginia and I feel relaxed as opposed to the stress I felt all day. The final sweep happens next weekend when we return to Long Island for the walkthough and closing.

  4. Excellent quote for packing day! It will get done. There may be tons of those 'last packed' boxes with everything wildly strewn in, but, these will bring you a chuckle in your new home. All will be well!! May you keep strong and - somehow - joyful!

    1. Maureen, I really enjoyed your thought on those "widely strewn last packed boxes." How did you know that's what I did? (LOL)

  5. A change of scenery with a load of work! I hope the packing was easier than anticipated, and the rest of the move goes smoothly.

    1. Chris, our team of movers were organized and respectful. While there was much stress today, I feel relieved as we drive to Virginia.
